IDs

Since 2017, we've become THE experts, when it comes to getting IDs.

Over 21 million eligible voters in America are living without an ID.

IDs are required to get a job, obtain housing, access most forms of healthcare, open a bank account, vote in a majority of states, and everything else needed to escape poverty and homelessness.

If an ID is so important, why doesn't everyone have one? The expense, number of documents required, transportation challenges (more than 10 million Americans live more than 10 miles from a DMV) and many more obstacles make it almost impossible for the unhoused, returning citizens, students, the elderly, and many more groups to get the IDs they need to live.

This is where Spread The Vote + Project ID steps in.

We help individuals get their documents, get them to and from appointments and get the piece of plastic that will help them to live a full life.

Voter education

Our voter education and turnout program is tailored to meet the needs of our clients and communities. we take our clients from 0% turnout to 42%.

Vote by mail in jail

Thousands of incarcerated citizens awaiting trial and serving misdemeanor sentences are at risk of being disenfranchised. We assist eligible voters to register and cast their ballots.

fine free

Americans who have lost their IDs often can't pay the fines and fees required to re-establish their identity, work, and access social safety-net programs. We help clear fees and to get their IDs back.

project id action fund

Through our sister 501c4, Project ID Action Fund, we are advocating for policy change, endorsing and supporting pro-ID candidates and fighting for systemic change.

Project ID Action Fund's current legislative priority is #FreeIDsForVets, a movement to pass state policy that will provide the free IDs that veterans need for housing, employment, to prove eligibility for federal services, and to access services that will help them to get back on their feet.
